Apr 1, 2007 This is a very likable beer, and a worthy addition to the "imperial" category. Sweet malt flavor dominates before hops rise in the aftertaste. If anything I’d say the hops are a bit underdone and the alcohol a bit low.

Mar 31, 2007 22 oz bottle, via STEPHENDR. Pours a slightly hazy orangish copper body under a one finger creamy beige head that left lots of heavy lacing as it faded. The nose is grapefruity citrusy hops over a candy-sweet toffee and caramel malt base. The flavor is pretty aggressively bitter with a heavy resiny hop oil kick up front. Heavy sweet malt base balances things nicely. Lingering bitter finish that’s a bit harsh. Mouthfeel is full bodied and stickier than I’d like with moderate fizzy carbonation. A pretty nice IIPA, and far and above the best organic beer I’ve had so far.

Mar 29, 2007 A powerful Double/Imperial IPA this one is. Pours dark brown with lots of carbonation and leads to a nice thick head. There is a slight amber hue to it. GOes down very smooth with a thick lasting IPA hoppy taste. Flavor is excellent. Worth a try no doubt, a little pricy though.

Mar 29, 2007 Bottle. [Blind tasting session @ Sk8viking] #21 Average creamy like off-white head that was mostly lasting. Clear flat looking body with an amber hue. Aroma was god mix of malt and hops. Notes of bread, caramel, grains, toffee, nutty, pine, citrus, and grapefruit. Full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated bitter flavor with some malty sweet notes. Nice dry finish.

Mar 26, 2007 Bottle. Amber colour with a yellow head. Light citrus, hop, caramel malt aroma and a caramel malt, heavy hop, pine taste. Medium to full body with a sticky, bitter dry finish.

Mar 25, 2007 Pours a clear orange with a big foamy head. Full flavored with flavors of amber malts and lots... lots of hops. Dry and very hoppy finish.

Mar 24, 2007 Updated: Aug 25, 2008Honey colored with thin white head. Nice honey aroma with relatively mild hops... much like a nice barleywine. Taste is sweet and bitter with grapefruit, but not prototypically IIPA. Rather English in terms of yeast character. Far and away the best organic product I have had, but not hoppy enough for me to call it a true IIPA. $3/22oz
