Bottle during my NC brew tour. Pours a very cloudy orange with a tall, off-white head. The aroma is full of intense grapefruit and pine with sour grapes. It’s all about the hops here, very aggressive. The flavor turns down the volume a notch, but still the hops are anything but subtle. Mouthfeel is medium sticky with a sappy sweetness throughout. Alcohol is hidden well. Flavors of pine nuts, caramel, green tea, Mary Jane, are all noted. This is a solid, solid IIPA. Not ridiculous, but solid.

Pours hazy amber with a mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of pine, mango, ginger and extreme hoppiness. Taste is mango, pine, hop resins, and fruity sap. Mouthfeel is full bodied with slight resinous quality, not nearly overwhelming.

Resin and pine in the aroma, with some grapefruit. pours a rich amber. Tons of citrus hops, very piney and resin. Very hoppy with tons of hop flavor, but actually well balanced.

Courtesy Brent at Redlight. Poured alight gleaming red with a light white head. Smells like I’m walking through a forrest. Very piney and hoppy. Also, a hint of grapefruit. taste is extremely hoppy as you might figure with a little sweetness to it that gives it a nice touch. This one was well done, especially for the hop heads.

On tap at Taco Mac. Drank after the Rogue I2PA so had a nice comparison. This is much more subtle. More malt flavors and sugars than hops. Lots of caramel in the aroma and taste.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber, with a nice, thick, creamy beige head. The aroma is citrus hops, sweet caramel, and a bit of earthy hops as well. Flavor is quite malty, lots of caramel and candy-like sweet malts. Followed of course by a nice hop blast, (although not as much of a blast as I’d hoped for) interesting I’m getting some piney hops in the flavor as well. Sampling the aroma again, I can pick up some piney hops, even a bit of alcohol. Wish I had saved this for rating with friends, seemed like there was more going on than I could detect. Maybe I’ll revisit soon.
