Translucent and glowing pale polished brass in color with a greasy, icy white head. Aroma portrays honeyed tangerines and apricots, along with mandarins situated under an orange citric glaze. Bright candied cascades meet a lemon zest, and the alcohol strength only adds to the aromatic zing. Big boy flavor plays with strawberry kiwi, honeycomb and dried apricot chews. Borders oiliness. A crystallized comb sweetly moves us into a plum orange duck sauce. Melted papaya chews get mixed with liquefied dates to form a chewy sweetness that’s well-balanced with the citric traits. Nearly a natural, nut dusting-coated character at times. Truly strikes a balance between mouth feel totality and spicy ginger hop hotness. Medium-to-fuller bodied and simply fun to place upon the palate for sheer playful purpose. Candied, crystallized ginger and hop flavors twine around the tongue in the end, aridly drying out the sides. An erasure buffing strikes the base of the tongue to eloquently deliver on all that it was cracked up to be. Many thanks for the bomber, tpkenned!

22 oz bottle. Pours amber with redwood coloring and a light white head. The aroma is very fruity and sweet. I noted cotton candy, sweet malt and fruity hops (orange and tropical fruit). Yum. The flavor, like the aroma, is fruity sweet with dates, orange peal, pine and spruce, and pineapple hints. Perhaps I noted a port like quality as well. There was also some strong caramel and maybe even some chocolate hints. Full sticky body. Semi-dry finish. A good 2IPA.

Bottle, purchased from Peace Street Market in Raleigh. Pours an attractive dark amber but with a small off-white head that eventually fades except for a slight white foamy film on the top. Pleasant medium strength piney citrus hop nose. Great flavor; very bold with a load of sweet toasty caramel and bursting with piney, grapefruity PacNW hop goodness. Slight peach aftertaste as well. Ample, yet very smooth hop bitterness. Full and round on the palate but I found it a bit under-carbonated. Very tasty. Just needs a few tweaks and this has the potential to be up there with the best of them.

This beer looks like trouble with a translucent ruby color and a bubbly thin white head. Very clean aroma, hoppy, citrus and soapy, but also sweet and sugary. I think my tongue felt the alcohol before a drop landed, oily, sticky mouth feel, warming with long lasting bitterness. Flavor was of pine, but also woody and sweet like caramel. Without the hops this would remind me of a barleywine. I enjoyed this.

This one pours a fairly dark amber with a big fluffy white head. The foam just loves clinging to the glass on this one. It actually looks sticky. Flavor definitely has some of the tangerine and pine that are common to something like this but I also detected some peach. The flavor reminds me in some ways of Hercules but it’s a bit more astringent and the alcohol is more noticeable in the finish. Tangelo and pine trees in the flavor. This one could stand to be a tad more refined but it’s enjoyable nonetheless.

Deep reddish amber with a 4cm frothy tan cap. Huge resinous pine tree hops. A bit of soap and lightly toasted malt, also. Same flavor with some woodyness and subtle orange. Medium balanced body. Smooth with foamy carbonation. Very drinkable, no detectable alcohol at 9.1%. Solid.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with jimbowood (thanks!). Poured a deep and slightly hazy amber color with a reddish tint and a large sized off white head. Aromas of floral (had a wet hop leaf aroma), citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, oranges, brown sugar, and pineapple. Medium alcohol in the finish.
