| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 This is a thick, chewy ale, pouring an amber/orange body with a one-fingered, creamy off-white head. Plenty of lasting lacing. The aroma is built upon strong caramel malts with a touch of toffee. Plenty of hops in the smell, too - pine in the forefront with tart orange and orange blossom undertones. Quite heavy bodied, creamy, and hot in the mouth. There’s a strong, sweet malt backbone in the flavor, and it’s needed to support the serious hop bitterness, pine, crushed orange pips, various citrus zests... The strong ABV doesn’t present itself until long after the prolonged, bitter finish. Nice.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Pours hazy amber with red hue and thin head. Fresh floral aroma with cookies and caramel. Big sweet malt flavor holding down clean resinous, citrus rind hops. Lingering bitterness. Big bodied. Well balanced. Perhaps not as lean as some but well executed. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A ring of foam decorates the clear amber.
-Creamy maltiness delves into a biscuity character, as earthy oranges rise from the aromatic hops.
-Piney, wooden hops are well-organized in the flavor profile with the caramel sweetness.
-The cushiony mouthfeel even becomes creamy after a while, spelling nourishment.
What if you dig deeper?
-The patient wooden hop bitterness stays a while before disappearing.
-Would there be a semblance of balance in this Double IPA? Okay then!
-This is a mild Double IPA considering its West Coast origins, but this doesn’t take anything away from its solid structure and flavorful display.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2006 22oz bottle poured a hazy deep reddish/orange color with a small tan colored head. The aroma was sweet caramel malt with a nice citrus and pine from the hops. The taste had a small bitterness with a lot of sweet caramel malt and a touch of alcohol warmth in the finish. A slight yeast character pushes trough between all the flavor hops and caramel malts. Overall I think this is one of the better organic brews that I have had. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Poured a clear golden orange color with a meidum white head. Aroma of oranges and earthy hop notes are the first out of the glass. Some pine then joins in. The aroma is hop forward and fresh. Sweet malty flavor has a decent amount of hop taste mixed in. Citrus, pine, orange and caramel. Moderately bitter semi-dry finish.
