Citrus, mainly grapefruit, and sweet caramel malt taste. Similiar nose, with addition of strong hoppiness. Very smooth and I hardly noticed the high alcohol. I was pleasantly surprised with this organic IIPA. badlizard (2389), Berkeley, California, USA

(Rating #1232) OldMrCrow (1205), Seattle, Washington, USA

It’s my own dang fault for sitting on this one too long. Some IIPAs age, some don’t. This one doesn’t. Pours the usual sticky orange with an off-white head. Aroma is like a two-year-old bad barleywine, dominated by cheesy oxidized hops and too much alcohol; some sweet malt notes in there too that seem like they could just manage to be pleasant if all goes well. But all goes downhill with the taste. Again, the oxidized hops, harsh grainy alcohol, and a bitter metallic finish. This is past its prime. Ramenen (456), San Salvador, El Salvador

OK I know IIPAs don’t age well and that the hops will fade and the older they get the only thing you taste winds up being the malts. That being said I think Butte Creek must have brewed this with nothing but hops because this drainpour tasted like pure alcohol and nothing else.Looked bad, smelled worse and the taste, ugh my stomach still hurts. After several sips this went down the drain. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

opaque orange, thin beige head, a touch of drippy lace, sweet pine and citrus aroma, creamy body, big hop flavor leaves a thick layer on your tongue, lots of sticky pine sweetness, nice balancing bitterness to add complexity without being overwhelming,
