Commercial Description:
Revolution XI, the hop monster that celebrates our 11th Anniversary, is a fat & chewy Imperial IPA that is over the top on hop flavor and aroma. The piney hop character is derived from a blend of five different hop varities: New Zealand Hallertau, Magnum, Chinook, Amarillo, and Simcoe.

Small cream-laden rocky beige head. Great multi-layered lacing. Bubbly body with a warm floral and malty nose that was slightly hot from the alcohol. Piquant and somewhat cloying mouth feel. Caramel, bubblegum, and candy sugar finish.

Caramel malts. Very flowery with snappy pine. Perfumey bitterness. Overall, I didn’t like the beer’s balance, and the aromas didn’t tickly my fancy.

Hazy orange, moderate to large head wtih good retention, decent lacing. Aroma is surprisingly light. Somewhat buttery, light citrus and grass, touch of fruit. Medium bodied, somewhat bitter with a sweet finish. Not much for hop flavor. Just nothing going on here really.

22 oz bomber. Pours a murky orange caramel with a medium beige head. Faint aroma of caramel malts, citrus, apricot and pine. Taste of malty caramel, citrus and pine. Slight alcohol finish.

Was hoping for more from this one. It was a big disappointment. Minimal hop nose to it. Very sweet with a slight sour taste to it. Could not have been fresh unless this is what they are looking for.

Draft pint at KClingers. Amber with a fully pillowy head. Sugary aroma -- strong medicinal alcoholy creme consistency. Spicy hops, warming a quite big. Quite a bitter edge. Good inner-warming beer. Nice. (#3218, 11/24/2007)

22 oz. bottle - pours clear amber with strong nose of spice and hops; very bitter going down w/ overly prominent spice flavors that throw the hop/malt mix out of balance

Sweet vegetative nose with a bit of grass. It is very cloying and medicinal on the palate with a very astringent finish.
