The aroma is actually weak for an IIPA with pine hops, windex, and caramel malt. The appearance is deep amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma and too astringent to be completely enjoyable. THe sweet caramel malt is great though. The palate is sticky. Overall I like it but it has a couple of big flaws.

Acidic aroma with caramel and hops. Light Amber in color with medium head. Flavor is of molasses, caramel, hops, and some grassy tones. Didn’t like it at first but it’s growing on me. The flavor has less hops than expected for an IPA.

Bomber poured a hazy copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, apricots and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, orange ande a pricot with a smooth lingering bitter finish.

Pours from 22 oz bomber a nice deep orangey amber, formed little to no foamy head. Aroma of faint pine resin, a bit of grapefruit caramel malts. Flavour was full bodied, hops, pine resins and grapefruits. Geez, wow, a nice organic beer at last!! No sh!t people, I have not been a fan of so called "organic" beers/ales. This truly exceeded my expectations. This beer is truly complex and tasty. Damn, nice surprise. Glad I got another one.

Bottle. Thanks to Matt. Poured a medium orange body with thin head. Aroma is light candy hops and citrus. Flavor is the same with a sweet malty body. Not too bad for an organic hoppy beer.

Nice, medium sized offwhite head, retention is pretty good as is the lacing, sticky and creamy in appearence. Hazy, copper/orange hued color. Nose is lightly caramelly and grainy with faint pine notes too boot. Body is medium, lightly oily on the palate, laid back carbonation and somewhat bland. Light minty flavors, caramel malts are lightly sweet with not alot of hops backing them up, lightly earthy and a bit of spruce. Finish is lightly sweet malts and dull though a little hop bite asserts itself. Bomber procured in a trade with SDbruboy, thanks Cliff!

Pours a honey amber with a frothy head that dissipates fairly quickly but leaves great lacing. Earthy, piney hops and oats in the aroma, and a bit of sweetness that balances it out well. The (very) piney hops and the alcohol shine in the flavor, which is anything but well-rounded - I feel like I’m drinking very strong, carbonated pine-needle tea (it has roughly the same mouthfeel). The aroma was promising, but it didn’t quite pull through.

Found this a couple of weeks ago in a Bevmo on a trip to Sacto. Loved the X this is pretty much as good, I just didn’t get to it as soon, so the aroma wasn’t as fresh. Plus, I don’t know if this was due to being slightly older or if the cap had a slight leak, but the carbonation was not quite as crisp. But on the other hand, it then was a little more like home brew or cask, and with that in mind, it was OK. Looking forward to next years model!
