Commercial Description:
Revolution XI, the hop monster that celebrates our 11th Anniversary, is a fat & chewy Imperial IPA that is over the top on hop flavor and aroma. The piney hop character is derived from a blend of five different hop varities: New Zealand Hallertau, Magnum, Chinook, Amarillo, and Simcoe.

22 oz bottle from BottleTrek.com. Pours dark copper, a thick frothy head, and big lacing. Subtle aroma of pine and citrus, very dissapointing for an imperial IPA. Flavor is better. Caramel malt, earthy tones and some floral notes. Alcohol burns as it goes down, not a pleasant attribute. If the alcohol level was lower and they classified this as an ipa, I would give it a decent rating. However, this clearly is not an imperial IPA (except the ABV). No big hop aroma or hop flavor....not a "hop monster" as the description states. This beer might be past its prime and might taste better on draft.

22oz bottle. Poured a medium to deeper golden color with an average sized off white head. Aromas of pine, citrus and some caramel. Tastes of citrus and caramel. Not overly complex but still drinkable.

Pours a clear, dark orange-amber color. A foamy, off-white head leaves random spotty lacing behind. The nose shows sweet, buttery toffee malts with bland, muted citrus hop character. The flavor follows suit, with sweet caramel and toffee far outweighing what little bitterness the citrus hops provide. All the flavors are very muted. The body is substantial, but under-carbonated and overly syrupy. This brew tastes and smells like a stale IIPA, only I know it is ultra-fresh. Piss-poor effort for the style, or any style, really.

Dark honey color with small white head that laces very little. Sweet honey, orange (artificial or extract almost), vanilla, some caramel. Smells like a malt show. Sweet and malty biscuits and honey flavor with constant assertice bitterness throughout. Some marzipan, vanilla and candied-orange sweet flavors with citrus fruit hoppy bitter finish. Very light carbonation gives a tepid watery impression as it sits, not syrupy like a lot of DIPAs, so retains some level of drinkability.

On draft at Taco Mac in decatur. Poured a deep copper color. First impression is of a sweet malt experience. The malt fades to a slightly bitter hoppy bite and a warming alcohol finish. The malt is nice with some caramel and toffee. The balance though is way off on this. Want a lot more hop profile with my doubles. The hops that are there are of the grapefruit and bubble gum flavors but are very subdued and way in the back of the flavor profile.

22oz bottle from mcbackus. Sweet cornbread, cinnamon roll, toffee and nuts with a touch of pine and zesty citrus on the backside. Pours a thick copper with a good sized white head leaving decent lacing. Nothing too spectacular flavor wise. Some sweeter malt, light citrus, copper, slightly dirty with some cloying caramel notes. Slightly annoyingly thick on the tongue. Odd for the style.

On tap at Ortinos Northside. Pours a translucent golden orange with a smaller bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet maltiness, some light pine and citrus notes. Flavor of caramel, nuts, sweet malts, light hop bitterness balanced nicely by the malt bill. Dry finish considering the sweet nose and up front malt sweetness on flavor.

On tap @ TAco Mac Alpharetta Pours a beutiful amber/copper hazy and thick. The head is thick, white and persistent. Aromas are muted, the flavor is a balance of hops and malts. The mouthfeel is substantial... thoroughly satisfying, though not as good as the revolution X .
