CelticBrew (420), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Apr 24, 2008 Pours from 22 oz bomber a nice deep orangey amber, formed little to no foamy head. Aroma of faint pine resin, a bit of grapefruit caramel malts. Flavour was full bodied, hops, pine resins and grapefruits. Geez, wow, a nice organic beer at last!! No sh!t people, I have not been a fan of so called "organic" beers/ales. This truly exceeded my expectations. This beer is truly complex and tasty. Damn, nice surprise. Glad I got another one.
fishingnet (711), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a one finger mostly lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, and floral hops with a good dose of sweet malt and caramel to back it up. Taste is the same as aroma with a ton of hops in the begining and sweet malt and caramel in the finish. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. This beer deserves a much higher score. Very good. Tmoney99 (3414), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear copper color with a moderate off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus hoppy and malty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer. Ale_Drinker (1049), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 1, 2008 Pours slightly hazy amber with thin head. Big hoppy aromas of pine, also a bit of alcohol comes through barely. Body is smooth. The bitterness that clings to the tongue has a sweetness to it... nice. This is one of the few times when its best to drink the IPA cold. Once this guy warms up it becomes way too sweet and the sugar just overpowers everything else (even the bitterness). Snojerk321 (879), San Diego, California, USA Jun 2, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo La Jolla. Not quite was I was expecting, seeing as how the X was so good. Both aromas and flavors were fairly weak for a double IPA, some hop and malt presence. I would go back to the X recipe and go from there. Aquilo (138), California, USA Jun 1, 2008 I’m pretty excited about this one, because I remember Revolution X being so good. Pours crystal clear re-brown with a nice thick white head. Fluffy lace as well. Smell is oranges, cream and spice. Clove, nutmeg, cardamom. I smelled a lot of hops when I opened the bottle, but once it was in the glass, the hops were balanced out quite nicely by the other smells. Taste is orange and spice, with some caramel, and fresh tasting hops. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Oranges, spice and cream is how I would describe this beer overall. I love it, and I am happy to give it a much higher than average rating!
