unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Oct 11, 2006 Had this beer with brutalbitter. Ruby red in color. Beige head. Nice malt aroma. very slight hop flavor. Very thin palate. Not much to this beer except for the great color. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jan 26, 2006 Bottle. Pours bold burnt red with very thin off-white head. The malty aroma contains burnt sugar, lots of biscuit, and some very subtle hops. The flavor is ashy hops, toasted malt, and slight bitterness in the finish. Not bad. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Jan 22, 2006 Pours amber with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of mild ale fruits, buttescotch, and flowery hops. Taste is sweet and malty, notes of caramel, plums, toffee, and strangefruit. This seems to be the theme of the night. Mouthfeel is medium bodied iwth moderate carbonation. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Dec 1, 2005 Good amber color, good tannish head that had a decent but short lived hang time then faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was malty toffeeish and fruity some citrus and mild hops. The flavor was malty with a nice fruity side that seems to keep from start to finish with the hops coming on towards the end.Not a great brew but decent enough to try again. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2005 Jax Beer and Wine - Atlanta, Ga - 12 oz. bottle. Medium copper pour, light, off white head. Sharp, olive oil like aroma with a cotton candy swwetness in the back end. Flavor has some candied sugar notes, some ripening vegetable notes. Some malty biscuity notes find theri way in there as well and finishes with a slight citrusy bent. Thick mouthfeel, but verging on cloyness. Odd for an English Pale Ale. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA Sep 8, 2005 Amber with fruity, malty aromas. Lots of hops start this one off, but they trail off at the end. Bitter, grapefruit-flavored finish. Somewhat watery, but refreshing and dry.
