I would like to add that if this were categorized correctly, it would be know as an I.R.A. (Indian Red Ale). A beautiful amber beer, with a very mild hint of the malts described. It bites like a I.P.A. Nicely unbalanced. Hey HOPHEADS, this red ale was brewed with you in mind. Jajoro (11), Redondo Beach, California, USA

Great dark amber color with a nice rich head. My only problem with this great beer was the lack of body in the flvor. I felt that the malty nose would have given me good body, but that did not happen. Overall though, it was a good drinking experience. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA

But nonetheless entrenched with a richy goodness. Somewhat roasted and breadlike. Has a subtle fruitiness about it. Semi-burnt maltiness with a bitter hoppiness. Undeniably enjoyable. Chico kicks ASS. GreatStelle (360), Chico, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2004 This was very good. Strong malts floated across my palate. The hops provided a great balance and a nice bitter finish. Very enjoyable. groovinhigh (170), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2002 Seems to be the hoppiest of the Butte Creek beers, and has more backbone than their regular Pale Ale. My tasting notes indicate I liked it, but it really didn’t make a huge impression. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2004 Amber apperance with a fairly moderate head. Aroma is cherries, oak, grapes, and plums. The flavor is slightly bitter with some dark fruit and spices. This is a nice beer. Almost like an Irish Red. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2004 The beer after disemboguing the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a bemused reddish-orange with a personable head that is creamy in texture and a toothsome light tan in color as it ever so slowly erodes the lace forms a thick blanket to cover the glass. Nose sweet with malt, crisp and clean with an ever so light hint of hops, start is lightly sweet and nicely malted, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish has a spicy hop bite and moderate acidity, dry as a desert bone aftertaste, a nice beer.
