Appearance: Pours a clear, dark copper body with a full, foamy, whiteish head. Smell: Biscuity malt nose with just a touch of caramel and notes of spice and citrus blossoms. Taste: Toasty biscuity maltiness with a light, restrained caramel sweetness. Spicy, lightly citrus hop character with a medium amount of bitterness. Spicy, drying finish with just a tiny bit of lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel: Just barely medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A fine, refreshing, very drinkable pale ale. Plus, don’t you care about the fishies at all you heartless monsters?

Pours nice copper color with a small off white head. Caramel and biscuit malts are quite prominent in the aroma with a nice balance from the piney hops. The flavor is similar, but the hops stand out nicely from the sweat and toasty malt background. Also picked this one up at Jungle Jim’s for $1.99, what a steal.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a nice orange to copper color and raised a nice slightly off-white head. Great lacing left behind that looked like a lace tablecloth. Nose is floral hops and very clean. Mouthfeel is rich and it feels good in the back of the throat. Flavor is caramel malts with lots of those floral hops and a hint of citrus. Finish bitter. A well hopped APA, and very easy to drink. I tried this both chilled to 45 degrees and at cellar temperatures. Cold was somewhat better.

Bomber from Bottle Barn; Nose of grassy hops; Lightly hazed copper with a big yellowish head that slowly receded and heavily laced the glass; flavor of hop bitterness balanced by light caramel with the finish staying lightly bitter. Not a hop bomb but good in both malts and hops!

22oz bottle. Deep orange color, foamy off white colored head. Big aroma of citrus hops. Grapefruit, grass, and some bready malt all in the nose. Sharp hop bite. sweet caramel malt, very light toast. Lots of grapefruit. An all American Pale Ale hop. Pleasant spicy hop, finishes dry. Medium bodied. very nice hop character.

3/16/2009: Spring Run is an all-around good, solid pale ale. I like it. Its toffee maltiness is paired nicely with a honey sweetness. It is slightly dry and grainy in the middle. The front is balanced by a moderate level of pine and grassy bitterness. I could really just sit around and drink this well-bopped pale ale all day. I definitely need to go back and pick up a bunch more of this for the price (only $1.99+tax/bomber!).

1pt., 6fl. oz. bottle (5.7% alc. by vol) from Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. Rating #14 for this beer.
