Tap at Rattle-N-Hum. Amber-copper coloured brew. Very thick white head. Aroma is quite nutty and herbal. A bit of soft fruitiness as well. Citrusy hops and a bit of berryish fruitiness as well. Flavour is loaded with herbal hop. Lingering citrus and a bit of prickly alcohol. Soft lingering caramel. It’s okay, but a bit muddled.

Draft at RnH. If some dude didn’t sit next to me reeking of cheap cologne, I’d be able to maybe smell this. Nice head retention on a gold body. Flavor is (jeez this fuckers cologne is all in my beer) sweet tangerine and tasty malts. Actually a better beer than I thought it would be. Lingering bitterness. I gotta move to the other end of the bar.

Growler fill from Big Z - I got this because it was the cheapest growler fill at the store, plus it was a rating - when am I going to stop doing that to myself? - anyway, this beer has potential - medium bready malt aroma, with some notes of rye, caraway, herbal hops - the flavor is a little bready and lightly sweet up front, but it gets dry and very bitter quite fast - the hops are earthy and flavorful, but there is a metallic character behind them that detracts from the enjoyment of the beer - this flavor is mild enough not to ruin things entirely, but the flavor of copper in any amount is a bit off-putting.

Cask at the Manhattan Cask Fest. Metallic aluminum and bitter hops aroma. Dull, oxidized grape skins and cumin. Dryish metallic hay and wheat flavor, bitter, tons of metal everywhere.

Tap at Press 195 in Bayside, NY. Deep orange pour with a dense off-white head. Sweet, yet soft caramel sweetness in the aroma with a touch of spicy orangey cascade hops. Very light, slightly fluffy feel. Lots of caramel sweetness in the base, which accentuates with warmth. Seems almost like dextrose (but it’s tap?) Some mild grain notes underlie the caramel with husk and diacetyl. There’s some light resiny bitterness that lingers, making it somewhat drinkable. Despite its lack of character, this stuff blows away Porkslap and Snapper.

Growler. Pours a clear copper color with very little head. Aroma of bready malt and floral hops. Flavor of weak pale malts with a ton of bitter hops. A touch of tropical fruits/mango comes out at the end. A quality beer from an unsuspecting brewery! I also had a sample of this straight from the tap at a tasting at Big Z Beverage and the hops were much more prominent. It was a real bitter hoppy bomb with only light hints of malt. In the growler, the hops have died down a little (even though the growler is only 1 day old) but actually I think I enjoy the beer better now.

Growler. Aroma of airy, very lightly toasted caramel malt with lots of floral hops and some citrus in there as well. Flavor the same, hop complexity even grows to include green leafiness and more tropical notes. Not a hop bomb, but a very nicely hopped beer. Very enjoyable.

Called Landin OutRage IPA, on tap at Rattle-n-Hum. Fresh, mellow aroma. Pretty dry, light IPA, with a touch of citrus.
