| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2009 This is probably the best of the bunch. There’s a distinct roastiness, although there’s a bit of that unnatural dryness there as the pale ale. Chocolate and roast makes up a bit for it, though. mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2009 A decent stout. It tastes a little like chocolate milk with a less smooth finish. I liked the cow utter on the label so I bought it, but it’s price may prevent that from happening again. JoeMcPhee (5010), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Deep black pour with a thin, off-white head. The nose has a bit of soft roastiness. A touch of herbal/cocoa, a bit of licorice and a soft cola-like quality. There in’t really any cocoa or chocolate in the flavour. Fairly dry palate with a touch of roasted malt flavour. It seems like a fairly decent, simple dry stout. WLG423 (80), Connecticut, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Pours out dark and looks very much like a stout. Aroma initially has an acid smell which is quickly overwhelmed by a coffee aroma. Watery, slightly acidic flavor with a light body. The malty notes are apparent but too subdued and watered down. Way too much like water to be a good stout. Finish is lacking in complexity and has only a slightly bitter finish. oteyj (773), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Black pour with a one finger tan head. Lacing sticks around for a beautiful appearance. Aroma is oat and lactic sugars with some cocoa nib, grassy vegetation, and caramel. Flavor is roasted barley, lactic astringency, and mild hints of chocolate. Something is off balance here- lactic acid and sour milk come to mind. Palate is a lot like water with medium carbonation and a dry roast oriented finish. madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2009 A deep dark stout with a thick collapsing moka head. Aroma is of burned caramel, a bit of chocolate, vaguely herbal. In mouth, a rather herbal vegetable chocolate, with a bit of roasted coffee, a bit off. zdk (245), New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2009 Its been a while since I’ve had beer from a can and never a sweet stout. Arouma is nice. Sweet chocolate milk, edging towards coffee. Pours dark brown with this off white head. Taste is a little dissapointing after the great arouma, but not at all bad. It’s a bit thin but the coffee taste really hits in the aftertaste. Its a good brew, not particularly well balanced. As if the parts are trying, but failling, to add up to a great whole.
