wheresthepath (226), Buckinghamshire, England Jun 8, 2008 [Cask at the Jolly Angler, Reading] A strong kick of citrus, but over-the-top bitterness soon obliterates everything in its path. Very dry, too. One for the IPA crowd, or the extreme IBU-loving Americans, but not for me I’m afraid - one of the very few times in my life I’ve actually been unable to finish my pint. Wish I’d asked the barman for a sample before I committed myself to this!
Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 9, 2008 Cask at GBBF 2007. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of fruit and esters. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin,. ChristianScheffel (2104), Odense, Denmark Dec 21, 2007 Cask/GBBF. Golden with a medium sized white head. Grass and grain in the aroma. Dry, malty flavour with a citrus hoppy finish. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 3, 2007 Clear light golden ale covered by a white 1cm cover. Grassy and hay-like soft hops dominate the nose since the strawy malts stay rather shy from the beginning until the finish. A mild graininess does not entice the drinker neither. Soft light body. A pretty plain example. oh6gdx (5903), Vaasa, Finland Sep 6, 2007 Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is sweet nectar and fruits along with some berryish hints. Flavour is really dry and bitter fruits along with dry wood.
