fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 5, 2008 Draught at Bottlescrew, Calgary At the pub they say it’s brewed by Wild Rose…? Hazy amber color. A light aroma of wheat crackers. Ordinary Ale, but quite easy to drink. patricks110 (172), Alberta, Canada Aug 1, 2008 Brewed especially for Bottlescrew Bills by Wild Rose Brewing Co. in calgary. This is a great beer. Pours a dark amber brown colour with a large frothy head. A distinctive roasted malts flavour with caramel and toffee. Tastes sweet and crisp. An unusual mouthfeel and slightly unpleasant aftertaste are present inhibited me from ordering another one. presario (2441), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 5, 2006 Waitress confirmed that this is now brewed by Wild Rose despite it’s beginnings at Big Rock. Dark amber. Fair foam head. So many aromas at Bottlescrew’s that it is hard to pinpoint those from the beer. Malty body is a decent base. Strong intriguing sour hop flavours front to back. As a hop lover I want more hops and am indecissive about the sour hop flavour. It is also a touch syrupy. The more I drink the less I want to finish it or order another. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 27, 2006 Had this at Bottlescrew Bills in Calgary this weekend. Check out their website for the detailed history behind this beer. It is actually very interesting, having originally started as a blend of Big Rocks existing beers: Traditional, Pale, and McNalley’s Extra. It is now brewed from scratch according to its own recipe. Hazy orange amber with a scant head, the aroma is chiefly of butterscotch and english toffee with a little apple fruit. Sweet palate carrying much of the same flavours, with a mildly bitter finish. Very good.
