Mar 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with red highlights and a small tan head. Nose is malty with a faint whiff of smoke. Palate is thin, but crisp and clean. Flavor is roasted malt, some bakers chocolate with a nice hop background for balance. Quite drinkable.

Mar 10, 2009 Deep cola brown with low effervescence and a slowly fading tan head. Rather straight burnt grain nose, consideraly roasty, almost powdery and feeling quite dry from it. Minimal blackberry fruitiness is obstructed by the roast. Light bodied and relatively drinkable thanks to its crisp consistency and engaging, if pushed, carbonation. Slight leafy hop finish provides an appreciated deepening bitterness.

Feb 28, 2009 Has a nice hazy dark brown almost black color. Smells of smokes malts. Has a smokey malt flavor with hints of coffee and nuts. Nice and smooth.

Jan 27, 2009 12oz bottle-pours a dissipating tan head and black color. Aroma is ashy then dark fruit-prune/fig, some off putting notes. Taste is sweet dark malt-molasses/toffee, dark fruit-prune, some hops bite. Soft, nice. Thanks to donkeyrunner/Shane for this trade with jwc215 & me.

Nov 21, 2008 (Bottle). Malty aroma, with fruit notes. Deep reddish brown body, small head. Mild roasty flavor, some fruit. Body is a bit thin. Pleasant and drinkable, but not great.
