Very, very light roast in the nose and a bit of a metallic note. Unfortunately I found the flavor a bit dull and boring. Too much black pat for my taste. The flavor is just not …. Not what I had hoped for I guess. Too much black pat malt and dull other flavors. Just not doing it for me. Thin mouth feel, watery with a semi-dry finish.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottle thanks to cavie. The look is brown in color, with an off white head, and clear. The smell is roasty, popcorn, malts, and ok. The taste is malts, roasty, toast, and ok but plain. PilsnerPeter (2642), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Bottle: Deep brown with a ruby hue and a creamy tan head. Some soft barley roast in the aroma- somewhat clean, but does have a bit of a "lagered fruity" note- touch of butter as well. Thin, fluffy light body. The roast is there and it’s dry, but it’s lacking in texture. Later on there’s some burnt husk and a peppery noble hop bitterness. A bit thin in texture- needs refining. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 6, 2009 From my beer of the month club. poured a dark brown, but not quite black hue with a bone color head. Aroma had a hint of smoke to it as well as some grainy malt notes. Flavor has a little on the corny side with some smokiness to it. Finish had some sweetness to it. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 6, 2009 This one came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma was tangy, bitter and toasty with a faint undertone of vanilla. The flavor was bitter, roasty, dry and gritty with a hint of malted milk. Rather one dimensional. Medium length finish, medium body. Ok.
