Commercial Description:
"Our Lager (Dortmund-style) is brewed with pale, Munich and Vienna malts and is moderately hopped with Hallertauer hops. The Dortmund style evolved in the steel-making town that bares the name and is a hearty lager with great heft in the mid-palate. The hops balance the malt but not overtly so. Canadian 2-Row Pale Malt Durst Munich and Vienna malt Magnum - Bittering hops Hallertauer - Flavor & aroma hops ABV: 4.8% IBUs: 35"

Pours from the bottle a very clear golden color with a small white that sits a top while the carbonation renews it. The aroma is very strong of Hallertauer hops with a little malt undertone. The hops really shines through at first but as it fades, your left with a great smooth malty sweetness. Leaves great lacing on the glass. Pretty decent lager.

tap at brewery.... pours a clear apple cider brown with a thin film of soapy white head.... a very grassy earthy type of aroma. very little of anything else.... flavors of grassy hops, earthiness, very mellow. carbonation level was very lively.

Just tried this as it was new on tap at my local pub. Gold in color, pours very little head, but also very smooth with a little bit of a fruity taste to it.

12 oz bottle from beastiefan2k; Thanks! Nose is grainy with a little light caramel; dark gold with a medium yellowish head; flavor has hop bitterness, caramel, and some apply fruitiness, with the hops making a nice light bitter finish! Decent DH!

Gift from a friend who went to Cape Cod. Pours completely clear dark golden with a small head. Aroma is apple and macro corn with Wonder Bread, white bread aroma. Taste is similarly white bread maltiness and corn with a light herbal bitterness at the end. A light but felt mouthfeel and average carbonation. Really just a boring, uninteresting lager with no creativity or seeming purpose [for a micro brewery].
12oz bottle, St. Paul snifter/tulip glass.

12 oz brown bottle courtesy of jjpm74, thanks John. Very cool looking label. Good yeasty aroma for a lager. I also detect some sweet candy hints in there too. The appearance is slightly darker than yer typical pale yellow lager and there are many streams of carbonation rising from the inside, very attractive. The head on this looks more like strongish ale than a lager. The initial taste is pretty strong for a lager. Now I see that it is a dort! Yes, way to much quality for just a pale lager! I should have read the label closer! Creamy carbonation. Has the bitterness that you would expect from a quality dort. Some citrus rind bite with hints of hops and perhaps malty bitterness too. Better than Victory V lager and Great Lakes Dort Gold. This beer has some alky taste impact tho it is only rated as 4.6%! Tastes like more. Not quite as well mannered as Edenton Helles Angel or as refined as Lowenbrau. This beer does have a tasteful personality all its own and I’m glad I had the opportunity to taste this. Quite an experience. Finish is medium mild bitterness that hangs for a few moments.

From a 12 oz. bottle with a bottling number on the back label that I can’t make out, sampled at cellar temperature in a lager glass. Poured a clear lager golden with a foamy, bubbly white head, decent retention, slowly dissipates into a thin sudsy lacing. Floral and fruity nose with a touch of lemon and sweet grainy malts. Good carbonation and a crisp, dryish, smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel. A straightforward tasting dortmunder, fruity and sweet pale malty, touches of graininess and dry husks, floral, lemon tea-like hops with a soft bite towards the end, and a dry, clean finish. An easy drinker, refreshing, nicely done.

Bottle... a pretty tasteful, strong, hoppy lager. Pale color, white head. Earthy and fruity aromas. Flavor has bit of a hop presence and finishes clean with some sweetness.
