bottle from brewery.... pours a semi-transparent light cola brown with a miky white head at the edges of the glass.... aroma of very light smoke and sweet malt...... very carbonated. flavor consisted mostly of lightly smoked charred malt with some tingly light bitterness in the finish.

Courtesy Dickinsonbeer. Pours a glowing amber maroon color, with a small off white head. Smells of smoke, sweet malts, and some dark fruit as well. Kind of got a little musty mildew trace in there also which threw it off for me. The flavor is pretty bitter, and the smoke and malt characters seem to be uneven at times. Just doesnt seem too much is focused here. Kind of artificial tasting. Disappointing effort.

Bottle... Clear, deep amber brew with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is of smoky caramel and rubber. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and standard carbonation. Well-balanced; smoky sweet and medium bitter. Finishes smoky and bitter. Thanks go out to mgumby10!

12 oz bottle. Pours a real woody smokey colored copper with a thin soda-like head that dissipates. Aroma is nutty, fishy, light smoked salmon- toasted malts, and a bit of plastic. Flavor is on the weak side all around and a bit weak in the smoke department- I was hoping for a lot more, especially since they seem to do lagers pretty well here. Very papery, ligth caramel malts, waterd down flavor, some smoldering campfire- but light, not big enough to give it a smoked meaty character. Very light and easy to drink.

12 oz bottle. Pours a brown colour with small white head. Nose is smokey, woodchips and sweet malts. Initial taste is thin to medium body with caramel topped with a smokey layer. Finishing with lurking smoke and earthiness. Palate duration is average. Nothing complex but definitely drinkable.

Bottle shared by Dickinsonbeer: Light brown with a film for head. Nose is funky. A bit of dirty damp carpet and mild caramelly smoke. Thin bodied with a mild flavor. Tastes dirty, but only has a hint of smoke. Hard to explain this one, but it does have a peat note along with mildly sweet undertones.

Bottle, thanks to dickinsonbeer. Smokey and sweet. A bit light in body but still nice going down. I like more than some other Rauchs I have had. Nice balanced smoke taste with some caramel and tobacco.

Aroma is weakly smoky, decent, but smells very much like a generic "ale." A bit woody. Flavor loses all smoke notes and becomes an astringent mess. Buzzard Bay sucks.
