Apr 18, 2004 Dark with strong coffee/mocha flavor and scent. I had one and I felt full and didn't really want to drink anymore. It would be an ok dessert beer probably though. But, thats about it.

Apr 8, 2004 dark brown color with a slightly reddish hue, very little head, aroma of nicely roasted malt, a mocha character as well, with a light touch of hops; roasted malt flavor, chocolate and mocha, also a bit of a rich malty touch similar to doppelbocks, flavor just a tiny bit light and texture is average for a porter

Jan 25, 2004 Dead-flat and black. I hate getting stuck with old bottles. Came with a 12-pack "winter assortment" though. This one must have been hiding in the corner. Deep down, there's a decent porter trying to get out, but overall this one is dead!

Jan 23, 2004 12 oz bottle. Almost black, darkly translucent, medium lasting tan head. Light sweetish nose, bit of roastiness, also a bit of soap. Had that in another BB beer recently; coincidence? Alas, detergent qualities show up in the flavor, which is overall sweet, slight roasted graininess, some decent character towards the end, but quite mediocre on all counts. Overall, this beer, and brewery, have no reason to exist that I can discern.

Dec 7, 2003 Bottle. Sweet molasses aroma. Very dark with off white head. As I expected, the taste does not live up to the smell/appearance. Very smooth, easy to drink, but not much flavor at all. Too watery for a porter.

Dec 4, 2003 I love porters, but i'm not really into this one. maybe it's my preconceived notions of crappiness associated with this brewer already (had all their other beers and haven't like any of them). it has a strong moleasses aroma with a faint head around the edge of the glass. the moleasses flavor persists in the taste, but only for a sharp bite and then its gone. no real after taste to speak of.

Dec 14, 2002 This is easily the best from this brewery. A little hoppier than I’m accustomed to, for the style, with a clean, rich roasted malt body. Pretty wicked pissah, doods.
