GG (1609), NorCal, California, USA Oct 26, 2009 Not quite the Cable Car beer I would like to try, but sometimes you just drink what you got. BevMo has this and the blonde on sale, so I figured what the hell.
The beer pours out a clear, rusty brown color with a smaller sized 1/2" white head. Aroma is light caramel, a touch of apple juice and musty hay. Flavor is a bit better than the aroma. Sweet caramel malts are pretty underwhelming, metal and some light bread round out the flavor. Seemed watery and spritzy like a mineral water. Nothing to see here. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2009 Pours like clear apple juice with a small fizzy white head that goes away quickly. The aroma is all sweet, almost like a lager, with dusty malts and fresh cut apple. The flavor is similar but adds a fair amount of sour bite in addition to a dry finish. High carbonation and thin body. Barreras (120), Diamond Bar, California, USA Sep 11, 2009 Pours a see through amber color with minimal foam. A very airy and light amber ale. Decent hints of caramel but taste of high carbonation. Overall an okay beer. rmussman (905), California, USA Sep 7, 2009 Sampled in a 12 oz. A pretty good amber brew. Nothing too special but nice and smooth. Mild malts, limited hops. Light brown with small head. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA May 29, 2009 This amber ale poured with a generous white head and a faint caramel aroma. The flavor is a bit sweet with some caramel taste and little else. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA May 12, 2009 Batch 00014! Pale amber color with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of light caramel. Somewhat watery caramel flavor with minimal hop. Quite clean though. Might be a good food beer. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 1, 2009 Slightly sweet, lagerish aroma. Clear Vienna colored beer, with a very thin head. Good label, great cap, twistoff longneck. A slightly sweeter version of their lager, maybe a little more metallic/astringent hopping. Pretty crisp finish with caramel popcorn notes. An attempt to pass off contract brewing as microbrewing. Why did I buy a six of this? Winn DIxie, on Special. Edgekrusher (83), , Alabama, USA Mar 30, 2009 So I’m travelling through Florida trying to find a liquor store to buy some beer... I ask a gas attendant, and they tell me to go to a Winn-Dixie..... Well, I found this beer at the Dixie. I feel sorry for the southerners, because this was the best the grocery had to offer.... Not bad.
