Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

another nitro can. pretty boring stuff. i find most of these nitro beers have zero aroma, and the flavour is muted, and bland, but there is a bitterness that comes through. they all seem to taste the same. I wonder if the nitro does something.

Creamy, tasty, easy to drink. Malty aftertaste and caramel on the tongue. Lovely head retention.

Can 0,5 ltr: Once from Ulster and now from Yorkshire that will change this amber from its taste and is now more easy drinking.

NICE AND CREAMY WITH A BEAUTIFUL TYPE CARBONATION. UNFORTUNATELY THE MILD TASTE NOTES OF REALLY NOTHING INTERESTING SCREWS WITH THE BEAUTY THERE. METALLIC TINGE OF A TASTE WITH HAY WHEAT AND A TOUCH OF FRUITY KINDA MALTY SOMETHING OR OTHER THAT IS REMINESCENT OF THE SMELL OF A QUALITY DISH DETERGENT. ONLY WEAKER.

A beer that definitely lives up to the start of the commercial description "A smooth, creamy ale". The problem is the flavor is almost non-existent. Okay, okay, the aroma was nice, but somewhat ho-hum, and the color was golden with a nice white head, but truly this is a beer with nothing else to say. Enjoy when your thirsty, but don’t expect much.
