Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

(Nitro-can) Orange-amber, compact foamy head. No aroma. Light-bodied and caramel sweet. Not a lot of character, but easy drinking.

Amber, medium, creamy white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, fruity, creamy, flowery, caramelly, notes of rye. Rather light and soft body. Flavor is moderately flowery, fruity, somewhat sweet, light malty and has notes of dry apple aroma.

(Can 50 cl) 4.8% ABV in this version. Bronze coloured with a thick, creamy head - whipped cream style - from the widget’s nitrogen. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel with a flat feeling. Weakly caramelish with a marked bitter finish. Ideal for heavy consumption. 120102

500ml can. Really good Cream ale. One of the first beers I tryed after I got out of the Molsons Labatts rut in University. Still really enjoy it.

I think any beer with the draft widget improves it’s score somewhat. An average bitter, not horrible, not wonderful.

On tap somewhere in Toronto. Clear amber color with a nito induced cream colored head. Practically no aroma, what was there was a bit malty, lacking in hops. Flavor doesn’t fare much better, faint toffee mostly. Very empty. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy as to be expected, however it is pretty light and again, empty. I guess if you want flavorless beer with no character to slug down pint after pint with very little effort I’d say this is your beer.

44 cl can. No yeast in bottom. Amber colour with a fantasic creamy head. Very little aroma of hops. Nice flavour of fruit from the hops and hints of caramel, this beer have a low carbonation.

lager but bitter, tastes a bit like watery not fizzy lager and has much the same appearance. Boddingtons is better, but its drinkable.
