Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Light brown color, medium head. Rich malt flavor, slightly too sweet. Good balance of hops and malts. Rich smooth taste. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is malty, slightly bitter.

Interesting Irish stout. Not my favorite, not my least favorite. Bitter taste that may appeal to some more than others.

smooth and creamy, vanilla - caramel tast, yet too thin. I don’t like the bitter aftertaste.

Had this draught from a can. Mildly sweet aroma, copper colour, creamy vanilla head. Lace for the entire beer. Very subtle malt flavour, touch of bitterness. Creamy and smooth, nice aftertaste too. Quite good.

NITRO-head looks awesome, but seems to take away from the overall taste. Smooth and creamy are about the only two words that can really describe it because there is little else to brag about.
