Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Sweet almost citrusy aroma. Light reddish, with a very nice head. Taste is light and hoppy with floral overtones. A little bitter but not much. Texture is creamy but a little thinner than I like.

Bottled: Light amber colour, Appears 'dusty', when served, due to the high carbonation. Decent head, that dies quickly. The taste is a little waterish, and dosn't last long. Ligth bitter in the aftertaste

Very smooth and rich. Wonderful pale beight head with minimal carbonation. Taste is not overpowering. Needs a little more complexity. Tastes flat and boring as the pint continues. Last few sips are difficult to finish. Very poor closure.

A very creamy beer especially the head, which i love. The rest is like a plain normal Irish red ale.

Rather sweet and watery. Does have a cream taste, but so what, so do many other beers. This really takes the style of a dry stout, lightens the flavor and keeps the body. Low ABV dosent help the cause either. I am being too harsh though, it’s not like this is a bad beer to drink, just nothing special.
