Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Widget alert! Well this looks like a draught beer. Smells like, er, nothing. As for taste - it tastes of watered down cream, UHT cream at that. Crap.

Looks like a yellow Guinness from a can. Creamy head, kinda bitter, kinda sweet.

Smooth creamy beer in terms of both palate and aroma. Pleasant and freshing, similar to a good English bitter.

Creamy and smooth. I used to love this style and this beer, but now I find it more and more bland.

It’s like sex without love. Exciting, even a lovely feel through the first few goes, but you know it’s not really going anywhere - a silky, gasping dust dissolves the bright rosy promise, the initial honey kiss.

It’s nitro-ed so who knows what it is really like. Fairly ordinary, colour is the same as Kilkenny
