Commercial Description:
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

It just LOOKS so cool..I’d buy a pint of this just to watch it settle :) Thankfully, its a pretty good beer when you drink it as well. Smooth and tasty.

Very good ale, looks great. Nice aftertaste. Very light, if you want to drink heavily, then buy some Caffrey’s.

My can (bought in Norway, ABV 4,8%) says 'Premium Irish Beer', but surely this must be more or less the same thing?? An easily drinkable ale, perhaps not all that much character, but good, GOOD (not great). I don't hate nitro cans, but would like to sample this one on tap. (Maybe I have, without noticing....) Rerate: ABV 4.2% version, 440 ml can says "Premium beer" but this is clearly the same stuff, just a little more watery version. Very smooth.

Light and fairly easy to throw down. Smooth and creamy, yes... but not a particularly great beer.

Nice and creamy, Maybe a little lite on the flavor side, but it is still a great beer.

Way too sweet. I had this served on nitrogen and it tasted a little like fruit snacks. I could not even finish the glass. Beautiful head though.

I’m still not sure what I think of a nitrogen pumped ale. Its smooth for sure, and has a pretty head, but its too artificial and strange. If the beer has something to back it up (like guiness), I would rate it higher. Still not bad though.

If this beer was a person it would be an accountant.. it is boring but it is drinkable and it can save you money... i.e. it is not Becks
