leaparsons (3798), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 27, 2008 Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Dark amber brown with a small head. Aromas are light weetabix and chocolate malts. Flavours are very mooth chocolate malts with a light fruitiness. More like a brown mild. Peppery on the finish. Too light.
bobinlondon (207), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 9, 2008 Handpulled at Crosse Keys, Monument, London, during recent International beer fest. Red/brown with off-white small head. Nice and malty in a lgerish way but I expect more body from a bock beer despite this one’s comparitively low strength. Not that impressed and bewildered that this was voted beer of the festival! Mes_and_Sim (3927), London, Greater London, England Apr 22, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St ’Sporks. Hazy amber with a thin off white head. Slightly metallic hop aroma with big fruity notes and rather a lot of sugar. Straight forward fruity malt flavour with a bit of a salty note. Very dull. wyzzywyz22 (238), Wirral, Merseyside, England Apr 15, 2008 Cask, Hoylake Lights (JDW). Looked promising enough -reddish brown with lasting white head. Slightly sweet aroma with hint of caramel. Some maltiness in the flavour but a really insipid and watery feel to this. Really disappointing.
A chore to drink. chimp_lechamp (324), glasgow, Scotland Apr 14, 2008 cask at weatherspoons sauchiehall- pours reddish brown little head, smells really nice, buttered biscuity cooky some bread, great malty character, tastes same slightly salty and clean lemony finish.
