wyzzywyz22 (387), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jul 6, 2008 Cask, The Dispensary, Liverpool. Very stout like in appearance - black with a creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma with some dark fruit. Quite full bodied. Flavour had more malt with elements of chocolate and raisin. Hint of smokiness in there. Very well rounded and drinkable. Dig it !
Nekronos (1943), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 13, 2008 I should have said I already had tried this one. It was not so special, nice nut taste but a little wtery and biter. Had it at GBBF 2008. albertane (300), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Aug 27, 2008 Cask at the Dispensary, Liverpool. This strikes me as a textbook mild; it’s impossible to fault it, but nothing about it is outstanding or especially memorable. It’s dark brown in colour a smooth body and flavours of dark fruit, chocolate and roast malt. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Aug 21, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some coffee, toffee and dark fruits. Flavour is malts, dark fruits, some roast and mildly smoked wood. Pleasantly balanced. cgarvieuk (2536), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 17, 2008 Cask at GBBF 2008 ... deep black nice creamy head ... sweet toasted malts ... rich smooth roast malts ... sweet and easy Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Aug 9, 2008 Cask at GBBF 08. Looks great - completely opaque black with a lush cream head (like a certain well-known stout, but smaller). Lots of raisin and roasted malt on the nose and in the flavour. Very smooth and drinkable.
