Pours amber with a very fine, off white head, which makes only a fleeting appearance. Raisin on the nose with blueberry and a hint of rum. The raisin is more subdued on the palate, being a subtle overtone to a standard spicy malty base. Smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation and a short, light grassy finish. Different, yet not bad. Not OTT on the raisin with enough beer taste to keep it from becoming cloying.

I always have this when I see it, and this is my favourite Cains beer by a distance. Refreshing, pleasantly fruity and very moreish. Far more appealing than a lot of boring, samey UK ale out there and long may they keep producing this. berkshirejohn (1831), Bracknell, Berkshire, England

Amber with a thin cream head; fruity malt aroma; the sweet juicy raisin flavour is very pleasant and slightly spicy; the finish is dry, sweet and fruity. Overall well-balanced and not dominated by sweet fruit. bobinlondon (844), Harrow, Greater London, England

Raisins seem to come through in a predominately malty profile. Interesting. imdownthepub (5178), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Sweet and fruity, strangely of raisins I reckon, although thankfully not over the top. Slightly thin in the finish, but reasonable. SilkTork (4184), Rochester, Kent, England
