Bottle - Pasteurised.

A Scottish stout with a wonderful rich dark colour. A smooth full bodied beer with subtle bitterness giving way to late sweetness and underlying roast barley hints.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Opaque black in colour with a decent tan head. Roasted malt and sweet, milk chocolate aroma. Fairly light mouth feel, with some thin roasted malts, almost ashy, more sweet lactose chocolate, and a dryish finish. Tailed off a bit after a very good first inmpression, but still drinkable. Good.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear black with a warm reddish hue and a creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Lightly burned malty aroma with a whiff of peaty smoke. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, hard roasted malts and a little licorice. Lightly bitter finish. 070209

500 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with cgarvieuk. Pours black with a moderate off-white head that lasted into mid-glass and laced the glass well. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate, hazelnuts, roasted malt, and coffee. The flavor steps back from the aroma just a bit and while still flavorful, lacks in depth. Flavor elements include chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of ash. The finish is fairly dry but not at all bitter. Light on the palate, particularly for a stout. Considering the low abv, this is a very well done stout and is very sessionable.
