Nice smoky beer, long lingering dry atertaste, some sweetness among the soot as well, balancing the beer. Svesse (1821), Hässelby, Sweden Dec 2, 2006 (Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 24 Nov) Black colour with small beige head. Malty, toasted nose with notes of crowberries, blueberries and dark fruit. Malty, slightly roasted taste with wild berries, chocolate, tobacco, nuts and toffee. Smooth body with a velvety mouthfeel. Very tasty and nice porter. Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Apr 7, 2005 Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Red hued, with a shallow white top. Not much in the aroma dept. A strong, sour flavourwhich immediatly impinges itself on the palate and holds through the agressive finish. Not the most appealing Porter though a reasonale hard tinny roast quality. Flavoursome but lacking a certain subtlety.
