Calapooia Caber Toss Scotch Ale

on tap-pours a thin off white head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt, slight citrus hops. Taste is medium malt-caramel/scotch, faint hops. OK/mild carbonation.

On tap at the brewery. After trying the Imperial Stout I thought I had tried their best, then came the scotch ale and really impressed me. If you like Orkney Skull Splitter, which is one of my all-time favorites this beer will not let you down. Smokey, earthy and overachieving. The malts blend hints of melted caramel, earthy peat, oak, and hell, throw in one of those holiday booze cakes. This is the kind of beer i’d buy by the keg to get me through the winter months. Impressive.
