Angeloregon (1464), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 23, 2007 On tap at Calapooia in Albany, Oregon--Poured a orange-sienna body with a wispy, beige, filmy head. Nose of fruity, citrusy grapefruit hops and sticky malts. Grainy and spicy. Big earthy, piny, resinous finish. Yum! boFNjackson (450), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 30, 2007 Tap... Poured an unfiltered burnt orange with a thin white head. I typically like the look of unfiltered beers, but the head diminished so quickly to nothing I had to rate its appearance lower. Sharp, hop and grain aroma. Great texture in the mouth and a punch of hops with a very earthy/piney presence. Tasted great. jcwattsrugger (3724), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 13, 2007 on tap-pours a thin white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is mild citrus hops, yeast?, secondary medium malt. Taste is citrus hops/grapefruit/flat hops-some bitter, secondary medium malt. DA (2243), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Oct 8, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. I think it might just be me, but Chinook hops smell like cat pee, and this was loaded with them. Pours light orange with a soft white head. Heavy citrus grapefruit hop flavor finishing more towards the pine side. I liked the flavor of the IPA, but the chinook aroma just bugs me. SuzyGreenberg (768), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2007 draft @ brewpub - pours a nice amber with slight head; as expected, a great smelling NW IPA with just a tad less on the flavor; a very decent IPA though
