Commercial Description:
Deep red with brownish hues, this dry-hopped strong ale gets its body from a higher mash time and a good amount of Munich malts. A small amount of Chocolate, Crystal, and Special B round out the malt profile. Bittered with Galena hops, this strong ale has hop flavors and aromas from Cascade and Simcoe hops. It is dry-hopped with Cascade and Simcoe hops as well.

Bottle at tasting at Chris Fischer’s (from Liars Club) house. Pours with an amber red body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. IT’s slightly sweet and malty with a nice bitter hop note and a light roastiness. Full bodied and warming.

On tap at the 2007 Holiday Ale Festival. Pours dark mahogany with light khaki head. Sweet melted caramel body, light coffee note, with a strong floral citrus hop finish. Grapefruity and a bit spicy on the hop profile.

At Holiday Ale Festival as well as Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR 2007--This wonderful winter beer poured a deep brown-amber body with a one-finger off-white head. Nose of floral Simcoe hops (yum!) and sinewy and boisterous malts. This is a Northwest beer through and through and perfect for the winter months!
