Commercial Description:
Ebony in color, this Northwest style stout is dry-hopped with dark chocolate covered Kona coffee beans. Caldera Cauldron Brew is smooth as a result of being brewed using Weyermann sinamar, a 3,000-degree lovibond black malt extract from Germany.

Sampled draught at Caldera Brewery, Ashland
Black with ruby edges, rich coffee nose and flavor, very smooth with an earthy and oaky finish. Major thanks to the brewmaster for letting us taste these at the brewery when he was already busy.

Black with a thick tan, rocky head and thick lacing. Strong roast and chocolate. Some pepper. Coffee. The flavor is very similar yet the roast and coffee stand out a lot more. Bitter hops. Thick bodied and bitter finish of roast.

Sampled from a cask. Opaque body with a medium sized kahki head. Roasty aroma with lots of coffee notes. Lots of roasted barley and malts, plenty of coffee coming through with some subtle cocoa notes. Pretty nice overall.

Portland Holiday Ale Festival 2004. Jet black colour with a very thick yellow-tan head. Sticky lacing. Strong coffee and chocolate aroma with a full oatmeal accented body. Loads of coffee flavour with a long dry roasty finish. A touch of caramel sweetness.
