Keg at The Windmill, Southport. Clouded amber with Nitro head. Ok it was a rate, but when you spot these things!. Tinny, metallic background, soapy flavour, poor stuff. Thin through to finish.

Keg Handpump at the Pullman Lodge Hotel, Seaburn 01/11/2005. Golden coloured and smooth with a slight hint of hoppiness. Slight malt and bitterness in the finish.

NOt bad, but a little bitter more than the other. Any way, it was ok, but for me was not that creamy.

One of my old student bars used to serve this, it was introduced to me by one of my Yorkshire mates. Thick, creamy texture, strong flavour (I’m sure the one I had was 5.5%) and long finish. Lef tme with a smile on my face anyway, and remains one of my favourite cream ales.

Draft at Quorn Grange Hotel, Quorn. Mild bitter hops aroma, with a hint of fruity character. Otherwise, pretty dull. Dark golden amber clear, light haze, with creamy thick off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with thin carbonation. Light in both the malt and hop area, with a tint of fruity character. Some bitterness towards the end, with light bitter after touched with a watery cider tang. Clean, but not much character.
