The Turk’s Head, Tynemouth. Deep cream collar on clear chestnut. Butter biscuit, cask wood, milkly hazelnut and chocolate aroma. Soft, still and silky with biscuit, faint toffee and hazelnut. Some very subtle sultana fruitiness. Delicate smoke and chocolate afters. Mild-like, slight and pleasant.

[Cask at The Castle, Castleton] Deep, inviting brown colour with a thick creamy head. Sweet malt and toffee dominate, with fruit vinous flavours swirling around the edges. Sweet, yet dry and sour at the same time. Good stuff!

Cask at The Bell, Banbury, Oxon 28-12-08. Had three pints of this and found it most enjoyable. Poured mid brown but with good clarity and with a nice white head. Good full on fruity malty beer, little bit of soft fudge and toffee and a nice bitterness. Really decent and in great nick. A6 A5 F7 P4 OV14

Half pint served at a perfect temperature at Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh. Clear, amber body under a white, lacing-head. Rather discreet floral-malty aroma. Caramel malts in flavour, becoming gradually more bitter towards the ending. Foamy in the mouth (23.10.2008).

Perhaps herok and howels single malt From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully gone head. Dry malty and slight spiced aroma. Smooth and malty flavour with a mild breadish touch. Medium dry and slight bitter finish. Nice one.
