A couple of pints at The Star in Middlesbrough, 05/10/07. Mid brown with a creamy head and a strong biscuity aroma. Tastes sweet and bready with a creamy smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a nicely drinkable session bitter for a lazy Friday afternoon.

Cask (Kuikka, Helsinki) Brown nutty aroma, some coffee. Taste is creamy and hints of coffee grounds, but also very brown. A bit dead, no real punch, not enough sharpness to the hops.

Clear light orange. Gentle 1cm off-white head. Grainy, sugary, pear-like and cerealic ale with toasted biscuits and fruity nuances. A bit sticky in its finish. Unconvincing low carbonation leaves the stickiness queen while mildly rooty earthiness tries to bring a sense of hopeless balance. Simple for a sweet ale.

Cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow. An amber beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a slightly bitter finish. A somewhat boring beer.

Cask at The Barony, Edinburgh. Amber colour. Bit of caramel and tea-like hops in flavour with diacetyl notes, making the mouthfeel smooth and buttery. Low bitterness.

Cask@GBBF2007. Colour is clear amber, the head is mediumsized and white. Leaves a lot of lace. Aroma is caramel, nectar, fruits and some wood. Flavour is wooden, fruity, hoppy. Mainly dark fruits in aftertaste. Wellbalanced and nice.
