I must do more exploring into ZScottish beers! I could drink pints of this, an excellent session beer, not too strong and getting down my system without a problem. uart (10), New Jersey, USA

While all of the other Americans were wasting their time with Guinness and the like, I was heartily enjoying the rich flavor of this ale. Almost every pub visit opened with a pint of Caledonian 80/~, I only wish I could still get my hands on it now. MesandSim (5977), London, Greater London, England

Ahh it’s ok. Aroma has a slight hint of germoline which I quite like. Appearance is below standard. White head which dies almost instantly and a not particularly apeetising brown body. Flavour is nohing special at all. Slightly tinny, hoppy and very slight fruit hint in a mildly bitter finish. Yup nothing special. yalnikim (785), Wellington, New Zealand

Brilliant copper, with an off-white, disappearing, head, that laces up ver well. Little visible carbonation. Looks a treat. Delicious malt aroma, with smoke and orange hints. Flavour is again mlt dominated - smokey, peaty, woody, with suggestions of prunes. Woodiness lingers. Medium weight and soft carbonation make this one a great quaffer. Very easy drinking, my kind of ale. Would love to try this before it was murdered via pasteurisation - I’m sure it would be 4+. Nekronos (2271), Xalapa, Mexico

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 22, 2005 Deep amber color with a thin head. Mild sugary-sweet smell. Very low carbonation, gives is a smooth feel in the mouth, too bad there isnt any body there. Thin, watery and dry finish. Definite fruitiness is about the only discernable flavor, a bit like apples and grapes.
