Clear dark amber color, creamy off-white head. Hazel nutty aroma. Nutty, a bit sweetish, malty flavor. Leads to nutty-oily aftertaste with some hops. Crisp carbonation. Pleasant session beer, but a bit empty to get better score. MBison (548), Southern Highlands, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2008 Bottle (500ml). Poured clear amber with a dense frothy head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of biscuity caramel malts with mild notes of butterscotch, spicy/resiny hops, orange citrus, nectarines, mixed dark berries and some light earthy/woody notes. Flavor was light (but good) resiny/earthy hop bitterness with smooth caramel malts, nectarines, light notes of citrus and cranberries with a nutty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good finish. sneezey (110), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2008 On tap in Paris - brownish color, with a definite malty aroma right from the start. Lighter on the palate than I would have expected, but still a nice malty taste with good but not overwhelming hops. Not my favorite in a Scottish bitter, but anything Scottish is better than plain bitter. Good. But not great. yespr (12313), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 15, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours golden, clear and deep amber/brown with a lacing off-white head. Dry breadish malt aroma. Flavour is dry malt breadish, slight dusty and followed by a light fruity acidic hops flavour. Goes into a mild bitterness and light acidic/citric touch. yngwie (4974), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a sparkling, copper body with a decent, off-white head leaving nice lacings. The aroma has a pleasant fruityness, but there’s enough caramel and bready maltyness to make it really balanced. Unfortunately it’s a bit dull too, and there’s a hint of cooked vegetables. The flavor is much the same, with the fruityness lingering and also bringing along some bitterness, but far from as much as wished for, and my demands aren’t sky-high. Medium body. The finish is rather short, with malty flavors dominating, but there’s also a little fruityness and bitterness. The beer is easy to drink and quite tasteful, but it’s still rather boring. One of those beer I don’t know if I like or not. (080317) BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Light amber with minimal head. Aroma is some cooked carrots and some salty nuts. Flavour is slightly bitter but pretty thin and rather sweet. Seems to be a flat pub slammer.
