Pours dark amber / brown. Dense head. Mild hoppy scent with some sweet malts poking through. Earthy. Interesting flavour -- earthy tobacco mixes with caramel and agave. What is going on!? Pretty cool. Medium mouthfeel. Slightly dry.

[Sampled in 2005.] A rather good bitter with an okay balance. Quite thirstquencing. Ingredientfull and with a body.

Pours a hazy, dark ruby-brown with a small tan head that mostly stays as lace. Aroma is extremely grainy and malty. Smells roasted. Smells sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit watery with low carbonation, true to style. The taste is roasted malt, burnt cookies, a bit of sweet cola, a slight hoppy finish, and diluted lemon juice. All in all, a nice ale.

Draught. Dark mahogany, small white head. Aroma of bubble gum. Doesn’t taste fully as good as the otherwise fine aroma suggests, but still a decent runner.

500ml can. Deep bronze/dark amber colour, with a beautiful, thick off white head. Medium carbonation. Very nice aroma with baked bread, caramel and fruity plum all mixed together. Flavour didn’t measure up....the lightly roasted malts were nice, but overall the taste was thin relative to the appearance and aroma. The mouth feel was also very thin and watery. This beer does not travel well in the can, as evidenced by the noticable taste of tin.

Pours a nice deep red colour with a large fluffy head. The aroma is not all that enticing, some malts, some hops, so what. But the from the first taste I could tell this one was a good brew. Very refreshing and tasty malty character, low hops, but still with a decent bitter finish to it.
