iammarc (174), Inverness, Scotland Jul 27, 2008 Handpumped at No.27, Blackfriars, Inverness. Light tasting and easy drinking. Perfumy aroma, nice aftertaste. Light gold appearance. mcc5468 (36), USA Jul 20, 2008 Draught in Edinburgn. Light golden color. Aroma was slightly hoppy. Noting special. The hops were only slightly more pronounced in the taste. Very drinkable but nothing that would knock your socks off. I had looked forward to drinking this one and it was good but not the best I have had. Pretty good session beer. It was enjoyable. wheresthepath (213), Buckinghamshire, England Jul 17, 2008 [on handpump at the Jolly Angler, Reading] Pours a surprisingly pale gold for a bitter with a tiny dissipating white head. Had it directly after a Harvey’s Sussex Best and it suffered badly in comparison - this is a much lighter beer, and tasted relatively weak and watery. Having said that, it’s very smooth and easy to-drink. Flavours are citrus hops with a hint of honey and maybe some melon; it’s quite sweet (as you’d expect in a Scottish beer). All in all a fairly average, pale bitter - there’s nothing bad here, but nothing memorable either, and I can’t quite work out why it’s rated so highly. bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 9, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Goat, St. Albans. Clear gold with a lacy white head. Very fruity and refreshing with a nice citric hop taste. Enjoyable. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 26, 2008 From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and golden yellow/orange with a lacing white head. Light fruity hops and butterish aroma. Flavour is mild fruity yet also quite butterscotch flavoured. Ends with a solid bitterness and a mild fruity hops note. Slight thin body.
