| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Bottled. Named the ‘Edinburgh Tattoo – Strong Ale’ this beer has all the hallmarks of the Edinburgh Scotch Ale, taste, description and ABV. After some discussion with SilkTork, I’ve decided to place this beer under the Scotch Ale, with a view that the Caledonian beers need to be re-organised to keep up with the ever changing branding strategies of the company. The beer had a crimson coloured amber body. Big rich scotch malt flavour. Rich and to the point the beer is well balanced between strong malts and good bitter hopping. Attractive and drinkable even right at the end of the night.
