| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 17, 2001 Although offered as a ’ruby red ale’ it is not really a red, but it does have a nice ruby tinge when held up to the light. Predominent flavor is caramel malt, much like a porter at first. Hops made an appearance at the end. Slightly raw alcohol presence, very assertive, and sort of a cross between a porter and a Scottish ale. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

Aroma of malts, raisins, prune. Flavor of chocolate malts and some roasted malts. Palate is quite dry and only slightly bitter. I was quite surprised by this peace of scottish craftmanship. cgarvieuk (4184), Edinburgh, Scotland

Refreshing though. BREWMUSKCLES (1075), New Jersey, USA
