Jan 17, 2006 Cask version tasted in Sept. 2003: Another descent beer from Caldonian Brewery. Had a thin white head with a golden color and light clean taste.

Blond color, thin head. Malty and nutty aroma and taste (hazelnuts and cashews), fudge, a touch of honey. Balanced. Quite interesting.

Nov 8, 2005 Cask, Last Plantagenent, Leicester. Golden with a dense white head. Aromas are soft and buttery, fresh, with spices and sulphur. Flavours are caramel malts with hops spices and a light fruitiness. Also, has some toastiness. Not bad.

Nov 7, 2005 Updated: Apr 26, 2006Pint pulled at JDW The Railway (Putney, London) as part of their Great Autumn Beer Festival. Yellow gold in colour with a frothy medium head. A smoky malt and burnt caramal aroma. Reasonably smooth, but I found the taste too strong of vanilla and butter.

Oct 31, 2005 Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Golden colour with thin off white lasting head. Smell of hay and butter, bit of ginger and caramel flavour in mouth. Finish has good tangy hop. Better on cask than in bottle. Malts have nice biscuitiness

Oct 19, 2005 Good Caledonian brew. Nice golden colour and white head, doesn’t last too long tho’. Soft sweet malt dominates, light citrus hops are there but these are played down. Good flavoursome ale, but this has lost some of its character over the years. Weatherspoons,Gala.
