Cask in a J.D. Wetherspoon, London
Blond color, thin head. Malty and nutty aroma and taste (hazelnuts and cashews), fudge, a touch of honey. Balanced. Quite interesting.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Golden colour with thin off white lasting head. Smell of hay and butter, bit of ginger and caramel flavour in mouth. Finish has good tangy hop. Better on cask than in bottle. Malts have nice biscuitiness

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.
Clean gold with a reasonable white head. Sadly it’s all downhill from there. Diacetyl kills everything that is mildy decent. Slight burnt malt with a hoppy finish but it’s just extremely buttery and close to awful in all honesty.

Im just goign to write a whole new rating here as the first time i tasted it i must have not been very wise. Aroma is caledonian written all over it with the hopy notes, however theres some sweetness thats not to common. Taste is similar with the sweetness all the way to the finish thouygh not much malt and finishing wetter than what the hops in the aroma would suggest. Im going to keep my score the same, very easy drinking beer, however at 5%, and this is always 5% when on cask in scotland, could be a dangerous session beer.

Cask version tasted in Sept. 2003: Another descent beer from Caldonian Brewery. Had a thin white head with a golden color and light clean taste.

Light amber colour with very small head. Not much in the aroma, flavor is mostly sweet and finishes with an ok bitterness.

Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Golden with lacing head. The pumpclip said 4.9%, Thin bodied malt bitter with a chewey finish. Some sweetness pervades, but a smooth, short finish.
