Poured a golden color with some haze, with a big fat white head that left good lacing in the glass. Not a lot of nose on this one. A deep sniff brings up a little barley and hops. Flavor is more powerful, and is that same barley and hops. Outside of being overpriced here in my hometown, it is quite nice to drink. Clean mouthfeel, and just a little bite on the back of the tougue. Overall a decent ale. thecollector (32), South Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 1, 2006 a faintly likable little ale-- like that homely and disheveled kid in the fourth grade you could barely constrain open contempt for, but who was always so decent, you couldn’t be cruel. this begs some abuse because it’s as overpriced as dinner at the airport-- they must have watered their fields of organic barley with the papal-blessed tears of virginal nightingales. presumptuous pricing aside, the GP begins it’s kolsch-like impression with a flaxen, clear pour, bright as the tuners on a new les paul. the head is as white as kosher salt, but much softer and given to rapid withdrawal. enticing aroma of honied apricot, with sugar wafer maltiness, some hay and butterscotch. the flavor is easy and quenching with sweet, grassy malts and salients of dried apple. bright carbonation and mild bitterness egress with echoes of more butterscotch. it was clean and refreshing just when i needed those qualities-- and that’s all that keeps this fourth grader from pounding the stuffing out of this snotty little dweeb. gnoff (3576), Göteborg, Sweden

Small tan head. Fruity and hoppy scent. Medium bitterness and mouthfeel. Hoppy taste, but not as much as the scent promise. Fruity aftertaste. hughie (3086), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Golden with a white head. Not a lot going on here: rather too fizzy, there was a little malt in the aroma, some vague sweetness, and no real bitterness to follow. Disappointing. guzzler67 (1288), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Medium gold/amber appearance with a small white head. Earthy aroma, slightly herbal, with hints of poppyseed and butter. Medium-bodied, grainy palate, decently carbonated. Malty taste, somewhat rye-like, modestly hopped. Finish was dry, of medium duration, on the metallic side. OldMrCrow (1205), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a clear gold with a modest white head. The aroma is lemon-grass hops and cracker malts; the flavor is disappointingly bland, bitter, and astringent all packed into one. Basically, this particular golden ale tastes only delta better than a macro lager.
Not worth repeating even at a more modest price than the $5 it cost me here in the states for a 16.9 oz bottle.
