I didn’t have high hopes for this as I have never tasted a decent brew from Scotland (other than Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted) and have never been a fan of lefty organic beers. The sweaties should stick to haggis and wife-beating in my opinion. And organicism is for the benefit of third world loving, sandal wearing, bearded hippies, and not hard men beer drinkers like us! Anyhow, I was pleasantly surprised by this. Not great by all means, but when poured I was intrigued as it had a cloudy, hefe weizen appearance. It tasted OK too - a bit sweet, soapy and flat for my liking, but enough hops there to make it interesting thus fairly quaffable. Overall, quite nice - well done jocks, you do serve a purpose on this world other than providing us with oil! I tasted this again on27/02/08 as "Co-op organic ale" and enjoyed it. Very fruity and cloudy. Certainly looks and smells the part, just is a bit watery and thin and lacks a bit of kick - I guess that’s as it’s organic and all teh good stuff has been taken out!

Crisp hoppy aroma. Golden colour with a hint of orange. White head. Rich honey in the flavour but still a bit bitter with fruits mixed in.

Bottle, 500ml. A pale golden colour with a small head. Aroma of floral hops and caramel with a touch of bready yeast. Taste is similar: fragrant/perfume hops with caramel/honey. Somewhat sweet. A light bitter finish with some acidity. An uncomplicated, easy-drinking beer.
